Mennesker i solen
Mennesker i Solen is a duet that explores minimalism, relations, and the fine line between co-existing and connection. The piece is narrated through everyday conversations between the performers, discussing everything from the local townscape, their current stands in the world, to dreams for the future. The duet is an optimistic reflection of a friendship and the present.
Mennesker i Solen (People in the sun) is inspired by Edward Hopper's painting with the same name. In the painting, we see a group of people sitting quietly in the sun, seemingly together, yet at the same time apart. The choreography draws directly from the postures in the artwork. The movement consists of guests who feel both familiar and distant, incorporating everyday language.
